Our very special Emrys and I were discussing Halo and Halo 2 strategies. He considers strategies that have basic effectivity to be "noobish". I denounce thee as a Halo Baby, Emrys!

Strategy, in Halo? Where, I thought it was your basic, point, shoot, die, respawn, and kill anything that moves game? At least that is how my Dad, sister and I play it. It seems to work pretty well. ;D

well lets say I play the game for the first time. ANYONE can pick up a plasma pistol, point and shoot, and kill someone. Its just too insanely easy and that is the method that "noobs" tend to use. So that 'strategy' has been termed noobing. In fact I think its practically an official term. www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Noob+Combo thats pretty well accurate. However most people refer to any combo that uses the plasma to take down the shield and then kill with another weapon as "noobing"

Halo. Baby.
And of course there is strategy. A good first step is memorizing the positions of all the spawn points for weapons, vehicles, powerups, and the like on a map.
Then you must study how many hits of what various weapons a vehicle can take before it explodes, same for shields and places on the body when shot by various weapons...mastering the art of stealth by playing maps so many times you know instinctively where most players will look most of the time...
But if you know where all the weapons on the map are, be you even a poor player, chances are you'll get that rocket launcher eventually and do some serious damage.

Hmm, memorizing when my vehicle is about to blow up might help. It sounds to me though as if you play multi-player more than you do the real game itself. I prefer to play coop mode on the game. I think the strategy you need for that is knowing where your jump points are, how far away from the enemy you need to be before your partner can respawn, what type of weapon works best on what species of alien and knowing how your partner reacts to different situations. (Like Dad likes to charge in and die quickly, Sis and I prefer to try and stay alive until the next checkpoint.) Edit: And would you please stop changing your name! I liked Puddleglum, I could remember that.

I think I could safely say I'm familiar with every style of gameplay in Halo, Halo 2, and Halo PC, be it cooperative mode, single-player, or multiplayer. I have played a lot of Halo. I changed my name for a specific reason!

Next time he changes it, I'm changing it back. <maniacal laughter> Anyway, what's so hard to remember about Superman? (Shoe size, maybe?) Or were you referring to his multiple other names he's been switching through?
Anyway, case closed. He keeps Superman. Or else.

Well, before he put it back to Superman, he had Pokemon, then something like Fedyakin or the like. Superman is also a good name. However Alameth, I would suggest just making him bite the bullet and change his name to something like Alameth's slave or the like and making him keep it. ;-)

Ooooooooo, I love the new avatar. And personal text. And the individual behind them. -thumbs up-
No, it's staying as Superman. In extreme seriousness, I have found who and what I am. The name and avatar are iconic of that.
Alameth's slave. -raises eyebrows- Nah...because then I'd have to ask to cuddle. No lover should ever make their partner have to ask to do anything loving. That's against every good principle in God's goodness. Now, kneeling before Alameth is no issue!
