Just wondering if anyone out there has read the Wheel of Time books by Robert Jordan. Book eleven just came out but I have yet to get my hands on a copy of it. Its very fun to talk about due to the depth and scale of the story, so if you haven't read them you should (don't start if you're not committed to reading... 11 books out, one more coming, with an average of about 600 pages to a book). Also there are a few "moral dilemmas" which would be interesting to discuss w/ grammton... give em a try.

I'm hoping to start FORMALIZED martial arts training soon so I dunno how much time I'll have for free reading, as I'll also be starting college. Also our libraries are lame to the max on having good scifi books, but if we go and I manage to remember, I'll have a looksee!

garn! I need people with which to discuss. The eleventh book is out, but its 12 holds deep at the library and it costs $30... no way. I'm in a WoT mood now too... I know some people who read it as well, but they aren't erm, as intellectual as the following of this forum.

Have patience, my friend. I'm trying to finish Dune, et al before I start on the Wheel of Time series. Besides, my library doesn't have the first book...thusly, I shall have to order it. Blast! More time taken up. Thanks for the compliment! Intellectual we are indeed, apart from being insane.

If you intend to read it straight through I would suggest anything you would like to read soon first. Personally I read like 1-2 books then read something else then went back. It's very good, but theres so much to the story and you need a break from it now and then. Personally I would recommend reading the Patricia McKillip books first- they were better than the WoT (but then they rank a very close second to LotR in my book).
