I just heard this band (Nightwish) recently...and I have to say they are probably my favorite of all time. I love the lyrics: the pseudo-Beowulfish styling and the vocals, to me, were both a bizarre and awesome combination. To hear samples, pop on over to www.nightwish.com and click MP3's under the "files" section. (yes, they do resemble a modern pop goth band and they look wierd...try to see past that and give their music a chance!) "Dead to the World" and "Sleeping Sun" are my two favorite songs.

I listened to Dead to the World... sounds alright, but I dont like the vocals in some spots, like the very beginning. Otherwise they sound pretty good

What's wrong with looking weird? Or even with some of the goth bands? (though they are a bit more...questionable.) I like their sound...not as good as Thousand Foot Krutch, but different. Darker. I like dark. Yes, the Beowulfish styling is nice.

I agree. Some goth bands can be excellent. It doesn't really matter what they look like. for example, Anyone besides me like Evanescence? I love Broken and Bring me to Life, great songs.

I like Evanescence, yet some of their image is disconcerting...I suppose that it just goes to show how selective we must all be in what we fill our minds with.

They used to be better. Amy Lee is starting to be stupid about some stuff now. I guess u can't really trust secular music, thats the problem, they can have good songs AND bad songs not just one or the other. Its not as black and white as like Korn vs. TFK. I mean thats kinda obvious.
My deepest apologies btw, Broken is not by Evanescence, its Seether w/ guest Amy Lee.
