Rules: Stick to the worlds we know from the movies. The time is approximately 4 generations after Luke defeated the Emporer with his father's help. No inventing weapons or fun toys ;D
Somewhere in Endor Forest...
Tanda touched down in her Mod X-Wing, wondering how in the universe she was going to find a place to fuel up. She briefly cast about, but could sense no other life-forms out there (other than the plants, which seemed to be abundant). Muttering to herself, she set off in a random direction, noting landmarks so she could find her way back.
As she walked, her thoughts wandered back to the Refugee camp. Her little brother should be almost 16 now. Amazing how time flies. But then, they all grew up fast. They had to. Ever since the Empire had been swallowed up by the Raiders, life had been even worse. You had to struggle to find a safe place to stay even if you weren't a rebel. Not that there were many who hadn't joined the fight. Everyone Tanda had ever known was part of the rebellion. Except Uncle Ted, but nobody quite knew what to do with Uncle Ted. He was...a few parts short of a droid.
A sharp screech interrupted her thoughts. She looked up to see that she had wandered into an Ewok encampment...

Lenna woke from her nap (it had been all too short) to find the Ewoks scurrying about, nearly in a tizzy.
She had lived with the Ewoks for longer than she wanted to think about. Her loving brother had stranded her there three years ago, only because he hated Jedi. Not that she regretted her decision to become a Jedi. In her mind, it was the only choice she could have made. Her brother had thought otherwise. So, when she was eighteen, he had left her there, scoffing that with her "Jedi powers," she should be able to survive. He had also left some supplies, but those lasted only so long. So she had taken up with the Ewoks. Some days she regretted it, some days she was glad for at least semi-intelligent company.
She got up and clipped her lightsaber to her belt. If there was any threat, she needed to be prepared. She went outside, and almost immediately saw the reason for the flurry of Ewok activity. There was a young woman standing in the midst of about thirty Ewoks, looking rather dazed. Now where in the galaxy can she have come from? Lenna wondered. The woman's dazed look quickly turned to annoyance, and she tried to shoo the furry Ewoks away from her.

Tanda didn't mind Ewoks, but they began to get annoying once they started in on her with spears. Suddenly, a bedraggled looking woman stepped out of a dwelling. She was human, or at least humanoid. Tanda hoped she spoke common. "Could you please tell your little friends that I mean them no harm?" She bellowed, scaring the Ewoks even worse, "Really, I like Ewoks, until they start eyeing me for their next barbecue!"

Lenna walked over to the ewoks surrounding the newcomer. She signed for them to let her through, then stood next to the stranger, put an arm around the woman's shoulders, and waved her other hand at the Ewoks, motioning them to leave. Then she removed her arm from the woman's shoulders.
"Sorry," she said. "But that's the only way I can convince them to leave you alone: if they know you're my friend." She smiled. "I can usually understand what they're trying to tell me, but I can't speak a word of their language."
"I know how you feel about the spears," she said. "They nearly 'barbecued' me, but I had enough trinkets to dole out to pacify them. Plus this." She patted the lightsaber hanging at her belt. "I'm Lenna. What's your name and why are you here? Don't get me wrong," she hastily added. "I'm not being hostile. It's just great to see another human again. Ewoks aren't terrific company."

"I can understand that," Tanda began, "I am Tanda, a Jedi like yourself. I came here because I ran out of fuel. It is good to see that there are still some Jedi around. Tell me, how up-to-date are you on the goings-on these past few years?" Tanda edged a little farther away from Lenna. But then, she wasn't used to people invading her personal space. Few people popped her bubble. Even so, she followed Lenna into the tent. She seemed alright, a little reclusive, but OK nonetheless.
((Edit: sorry, spelling.))

Lenna sat across from Tanda in her somewhat cramped tent. Inwardly, she was singing and dancing. Outwardly, however, she tried to maintain a somewhat controlled appearance.
"So," she said. "Where are you from? I was born on Corusant, and lived there for a while, then hopped off to Yavin 4 for Jedi training. I stayed for a while to help the other recruits, then my brother picked me up and promptly dropped me here. I have no idea why, but he didn't like my leaving (stranding, according to him) the family to become a Jedi. But there's no other choice, you know? Anyway, it's been about three years now."

Tanda smiled, this poor girl must just be aching for some human contact. She could identify, though in a slightly different way. It had been, what? Six months? Since Tanda had seen Kerik, and she was really beginning to miss him. But she must not stray from the conversation.
" Then I take it you have no idea of the Uprising or of Raider control? I think you may just be lucky, to be so cut-off. Anyhow, I was raised in a Rebel refugee camp outside of the Wookie capital on Kashyyyk (I think that's how you spell it). I was trained in the Jedi arts to make me a more effective warrior. Since then, I have learned that it goes deeper than that, but that is not of importance. Your brother marooned you here? How unpleasant. How old were you then? How is your family aligned?

Lenna sighed. "Uprising? Raider control? No, I have no idea. In answer to your question, I was eighteen when Jarek stranded me here. But tell me, what's going on out there? Not knowing has been nearly nightmareish. I have no idea what's gone on with my family, whether they're still alive. My father was a security guard back on Corusant. I wonder if he still is...." She drifted off into thought for a few minutes. She was snapped back to reality when she realized that Tanda had been speaking.
"I'm sorry," Lenna said. "I wasn't listening. What did you say?"

"I was saying that the Raiders came in around three years after the destruction of the second Death Star, here on this planet. They took over all forms of inter-planetary government. They killed, bribed, blackmailed, and bought their way into power. They were a powerful band of Star Pirates before they came here. They crush all rebellion, and rule with an iron fist. They are even worse than the Empire was, if you can imagine that. I and my family are part of a rebel group, commonly called the Uprising. We fight against the Raiders every way that we can. Many have died, or were captured, but we all hold firm. Many more are separated from their families for long periods of time. My...er...friend, Kerik has been away for almost six months now."

“Oh,” was all Lenna said at first. This rush of information was nearly more than she could handle. A reign of terror worse than the Empire? Maybe she didn’t want to leave her relative seclusion with the Ewoks. She pondered that thought for a few moments, then dismissed it. At last, she spoke.
“Well, just another challenge. Like the challenge of getting off this rock. Any bright ideas about that, Tanda?” Lenna was already trying to map out a plan for their escape. If they ever found fuel for Tanda’s X-Wing. And the chances of that seemed pretty slim at the moment.

"What do you use to start fires around here?"

Lenna gave Tanda a mock-confused look.
"Two sticks," she said. "But how will that help?" At Tanda's look of pure shock, she added, "I'm kidding. I think I get your idea." She pointed to a jar of yellowish stuff. "We use that. It's sap from one of the trees. Highly flamable." She grinned. "Let's get started."

As the two worked on liquidizing the fire-starter, Tanda asked Lenna about her family, "Did you have anyone special that you miss?"

“Yes,” Lenna said, then grinned at Tanda. “But for you to ask me that question, there must be someone on your mind. Tell me who you’re thinking about, and I’ll tell you about my family,” she said, then added quietly, almost as an afterthought, “and Alek.”

Tanda suddenly turned very quiet. After a pause, she said, "Kerik. Tall, dark, expressive Kerik. Only his eyes are expressive, though. He is quiet and stoic on the outside. He has been away on a Covert Ops mission for almost six months now...I miss him. He was the only one who's smile could make me fall over. Fortunately, he was also always there to catch me when I did.... But enough! What about this Alek fellow?"

"Well," Lenna started, "Alek is nearly opposite of your Kerik. Except for being tall. He doesn't blend in, I'll say that. And I know what you mean about the smile. Alek smiles, I melt. Occasionally the inner melting seeps out, and I crumple. But Alek never lets me crumple far. I don't want to think what may have happened to him with this uprising going on... His being a fighter pilot and all." She stopped, and reached out with the Force, trying to find him. It was difficult, since he had no Force sense, but she could sometimes feel him if he wasn't too far away. "I don't know where he is. But I'm not sure I want to know." She somewhat abruptly went back to work on filling the X-wing's fuel tank.

Suddenly, Tanda was as excited as a schoolgirl,"Wait a moment...Alek? He stayed for a long time at our base. He's not far from here, actually...He is completely safe the last time I saw him. He's grown up to be a fine young man, if a little...er...rambunctious. Always the first one to crack a joke, that one. He had an infectious smile. I got to spend a couple months with him back on Hoth." Tanda looked thoughtful for a moment, "Can I trust you with confidential material?"
Lenna looked at Tanda curiously for a moment, then answered , "Yes," "Well, I was actually on my way to rondevous with Alek. Perhaps you might want to hitch a ride...?"

Lenna gasped, quite loudly, and looked starry-eyed with a huge grin on her face. "You mean it?"
"Of course I mean it," Tanda said.
"Thank you." As she said those simple words, Lenna's thoughts were racing, wondering what she would do when she finally saw Alek again, after all this time. She sighed, and her smile spread even wider.
"How much do you think about him?" Lenna asked suddenly. "Kerik, I mean. I think about Alek at least once a day, usually more."

Tanda thought for a moment, with an odd look in her eyes. "I think of Kerik everytime I hop in my X-wing. Every time I use the Force. Every time I see someone truly happy."

"I hope I see him again." Tanda said grimly. Her eyes were hard and cold. " I may not get that chance."
The two worked in silence for a while, and finished up work on the X- Wing. Tanda then dissapeared into the forest for a couple of hours.

As Tanda vanished from sight into the forest, Lenna contemplated what she would do to pass the time her new friend was away. Her contemplation, however, ended after a only a few moments of thinking. She unclipped her lightsaber from her belt, ignited it, and began fighting an invisible foe. Her movements were swift, graceful even, as she spun, parried, feinted, thrust, and parried again.

Tanda wandered through the forest, being careful to mark her path. She wasn't sure where she was going, but she needed some time on her own. After a time, she came to a log that bridged a small stream. Tanda went and sat in the middle of the log, letting her boots just barely touch the water. She let her thoughts wander across the galaxy, until she felt the touch of Kerik's mind. She immidiately recoiled. She must have unwittingly been using the Force! She tried again, this time searching for that touch. She found it, and sent a brief but poinient message across the fast deteriorating channel. With that, Tanda began making her way back to the camp.

In the midst of a complicated piece of footwork, Lenna tripped over a tree root. "Sithspit!" she yelled. She had seen the mistake, but not in time to correct it. She lay there on her back for what seemed like a long time. Then Tanda came back.

"Do you spar with roots often? Sweet goodness...a Jedi losing to a tree-root." Tanda shook her head. "Let's go."
