"Yes--ma'am," Faramir managed to choke out, while still managing to sound meek. "Could you put me down now? I'll explain everything. Really I will."

"If you run away, I swear you shall not run far," The traveler said as she put him down. Well, rather more dropped him, but however you wish to see it. "So tell me, what have you to hide?"

"Nothing. And everything. My whole life has been quite a mess. Most of what I've said is lies. All except my name. That is the one thing about me that has remained true. But this is a very long tale. Perhaps we'd better go back to the inn. I'd prefer it if Alameth heard it as well, and not have to tell my tale twice."

"Very well. Come with me." The two walked back inside the inn and Alameth rushed over. "Hello again young Sir Faramir, is there anything I can do for you?" "Well-" "Just a private room, thank you. And attend to us as soon as you can. This is something that concerns you." The traveler cut in. "Very well..." Alameth replied, looking slightly confused.

Faramir and the traveler sat down in the room Alameth had provided, and as soon as Alameth entered the room, Faramir began, “I’m sorry if I’ve caused you any trouble, Alameth.”
“You've been no trouble,” she responded.
“Not yet, but I might be later.”
“I don’t understand.”
“You will when you’ve heard what I have to say. I suppose I should begin at the beginning. Essentially, I’m a misfit. I was born into a family of high rank in Gondor, but things went downhill from there. I never did anything right and I got caught up with some of the rougher, more unpleasant people in Gondor. Eventually, my father expelled me from the family. I wander, now. I stay a while in places that accept me. Not for who I am, of course, but for who I’ve told them I am. Although I am not the impulsive young man I once was, I’ve found that it’s easier not to tell the truth, especially in places where my reputation might precede me.” He stopped, then concluded, “And that is my story. Judge me as you will.”

The traveler listened carefully, looking slightly concerned. After a moment's thought, she replied "Lad, I am a traveler...and a roughian when I need to be. I am welcomed in few communities, but mostly because I am feared. I have spent my life attempting to be a force for good in our declining world, yet running away from my lineage. You have no reputation here. Tell me...what henous sin have you committed to hide yourself from us? You have yet to tell us what you are hiding. What your false identities cover up."

"Perhaps I'm overstating it, I don't know, but I cannot seem to do anything right. Nothing! As a child, I was quite the mischievous one. That's only continued. So nothing incredibly serious, really, just lots of little, yet consequential, mistakes."

"Ahh, I see. We all make mistakes in our youth. Unfortunately, many of us have little more than youth in their lives. I need to sleep. Forgive me, but I am receding to my quarters. I leave tomorrow for Rohan. You may come with me, if you wish. Perhaps I may be a positive influence on your dark path"

Alameth sagged in her chair. All this excitement was far too much for her to handle. And this was only her first day open! Well, the day had turned to night...She saw that the traveller was settled in her room, then went out to watch the stars. * * * Suddenly, Alameth awakened. She'd not known that she'd fallen asleep, but she must have. It was just before dawn: the grey haze of the pre-dawn hours was something Alameth loved. She sat there, drinking in the morning, until the sun started to rise. Then she went inside to see if she was needed.

Behind her, the traveler dropped off the roof, landing quietly. She walked in the front door, asking "Is there breakfast for a poor traveler who's been up since dawn?" Alameth started. Noone else had been outside. Or, she didn't think so.

"You're all together too good at that," Alameth said, but there was a slight smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. "And yes, there is breakfast, as soon as I get it ready. What would you like?"

"Food." With that, the traveler dissapeared up the stairs to Faramir's room. She burst in the dorr, yelling "Wake up, lazy! We leave in one hour!"

After his morning run with his horse,Telpin went inside the inn to get his breakfast. "Alameth, good Morning!." "Good morning. What can I get you?" "Some eggs and bacon. And some wine." As Alameth went to get his order,Telpin Looked around. There was a table set, so he wasn't the only guest up."Now I just have to wait."

"I'm far from lazy," Faramir replied cheerily. "I've been readying my things for the journey, since I'm going with you. But I suppose you knew that."

Alameth set about fixing breakfast for ~~~~ and the traveller. The bacon sizzled satisfyingly as it cooked. She waited a while before frying the eggs, since they didn't take as long as the bacon. Once all was ready, she took ~~~~'s meal to him and waited for the traveller to reappear, wanting her breakfast.

The traveler looked genuinely impressed that Faramir was up on time. "I'm impressed" she said, "Breakfast is being prepared as we speak. I'll leave you to dress in privacy." With that she bounded downstairs and nearly ran into someone. Oh dear, it was that elven fellow from the village. He was a stern chap, though the traveler had little room to talk. She went and sat at the table Alameth pointed out, talking the food gratefully and setting into her meal.

Faramir dressed and went downstairs. He ordered breakfast from Alameth and went to sit opposite the traveller at her table.
"So," he began, "Is this trip to Rohan to be leisurely, or hurried?"

Toby sat bolt upright in bed. Sunlight was already peeking into his room. He thought "I wonder why I woke up so early?" and then he thought, "I know! It's because of my new job! I'd better get going or I'll be late!",so He jumped out of bed, got dressed, and rushed off to the Inn. * * * When he finaly got there he saw that every one from the night before was stil there, so he went to find Alameth. When he finaly found her in the kitchen, she was fixing breackfast.(it was then that he finaly realised that he had forgotten to eat breackfast![gasp!]) "Hi Alameth! Have any breackfast?", Alameth gave him a quisical look. "Don't you mean SECOND breackfast?" "No, I was in such a hurry to get here that I for got to grab some thing." Well, he must be in quite a hurry if he forgot breackfast.Thought Alameth

Alameth shrugged off her momentary confusion and set about getting Toby's breakfast. She had never known the hobbit to be up, or even awake, so soon after dawn.
She delivered his breakfast to him and said, "Shall we discuss your job?"

The traveler shot a glance at Faramir. The child asked too many questions. "The trip will take as long as it takes. We shan't be running the whole way, but I do not stroll leisurely through the woods when I travel." Faramir did not look happy with this answer, but nodded and continued to plow through his food.

The traveler pondered this. It was actually a bit low for all the trouble they'd caused. "Alright, Here you go" she said, and gave Alameth what she asked for and-a-half. With that, she strode out of the kitchen to the road outdoors.
Faramir was not to be found there. Foolish boy probably thought she'd had a horse. She walked around to the stables and, sure enough, there stood Faramir.

Poor Toby HAD heard, just he fell asleep be for he could formulate an answer.(Which was not uncommon in its self cince he was verry tired after getting up so early.) He awoke with a start and looked around and saw Alameth walking out of the room. He ran after her. when he caught up he said,"To answer what you're most likly thinking, I don't normaly get up this early, but I figured that I'd better this morning."

The traveler looked at him sternly. This child had much to learn. "A horse, while swift, is easy to track. Also, horses cannot navigate the paths through the wilderness I often frequent. You shall learn to be lean, swift, and silent while in my company. We eat twice a day.....if you're lucky. Come." The traveler strode off at a normal pace. Faramir followed.
Once they reached the edge of town, the traveler broke into a more ground-eating pace, loping across the terrain. They went on for a long while; and the further they went, the harder Faramir found it to keep up. The traveler noted his problems and slowed her pace....slightly. "You're not used to long-distance traveling, are you?"
