I wouldn't describe it as weird...the people on Fantasy Insanity are weird (in a good way ) -Blader

I don't know... Perhaps plan a world take-over?

Post by steel_lily on May 5, 2005 12:59:22 GMT -5
Sounds good....perhaps we could subvert the UN by promising them money, then take all the other world leaders by giving them cursed rings while we hold teh master ring......
Wait a minute....that sounds familiar. Where have I heard that idea before?

I'd rather conquer the universe than a single planet. I guess I could let you have earth, it being just a backwater planet in an obsolete system.

Ahh, but because you want to rule the Universe, you are thereby one of teh single most unfit people for the job. A very very true Adamsism.

Very, very, very true...

Obviously you've never read anything by Douglas Adams.

Yes I have. I just don't remember every single line.

But that's another galaxy, and I have already taken over this one. Well, mostly. But you can have the Milky Way, as long as you don't try to usurp me. :P

You don't need to read Adams to understand this. It is simply a matter of human nature. Those people who wish to lead, are irrefutably the most unfit for that job. If you wish to lead, you lack many of the qualities of leadership.

For, of course, one of the most important qualities of leadership is humility. C. S. Lewis made reference to this fact as well, in Prince Caspian.

Yes...good books, those. We're reading through them at the dinner table....on Dawn Treader right now.....at the magician's house. My only problem with reading his stuff out loud is that the man did not know how to punctuate! He has half-page sentences with maybe two commas in them.
